The Great Migration is an annual movement of over 1.5 million wildebeest, accompanied by hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, across the Serengeti and Masai Mara ecosystems in search of fresh pastures and water.
The migration is a continuous cycle. Key moments include the calving season from January to March in the southern Serengeti, the Grumeti River crossings from May to July, and the Mara River crossings from July to September.
In addition to wildebeest and zebras, safaris offer the opportunity to observe the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhinoceros), as well as cheetahs, hyenas, and a multitude of birds.
Policies vary depending on the season and type of safari. It is recommended to consult directly with Aqua Terra Travel-Voyages Synergia for detailed information.
It is recommended to consult a healthcare professional before the trip. Vaccinations against yellow fever and antimalarial treatments may be advised depending on the region visited.
