Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park - Frosty Fun for the Whole Family

Disney's Blizzard Beach at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida opened on April 1, 1995. 

The theme of this water park is based on the idea of ​​a ski resort in the middle of a tropical lagoon! Legend has it that a heavy snowstorm hit the Orlando area of ​​Florida, allowing the construction of the southern state's first ski resort. Of course, the snow melted so quickly that the slopes were transformed into water slides. The ski lifts and ski jumping trails remained in place and became the stars of this ski resort in the tropics. Ditch the snowsuit to put on your swimsuit and hit the slopes!

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park opened on June 1, 1989 and is home to one of the largest wave pools in the world. The theme of the park evokes a "Disney legend" according to which a hurricane named Connie destroyed the island of Pleasure Island and devastated the lagoon. Boats, fishing nets and surfboards have been left where the hurricane dropped them! The central point of the park is Miss Tilly, a shrimp fishing boat, planted at the top of the volcanic peak of Mount Mayday whose "geysers" are still active.
